Our Story
Parrish Street was considered the Black Wall Street of Durham in the early 1900s. With TEDx Parrish Street making its mark in Durham, NC. Chenae wanted to continue the legacy of Parrish Street and invite anyone who has ideas with worth sharing to speak at TEDx Parrish Street.
Chenae' Erkerd is a native of Camden, NJ. She moved to Raleigh, NC to attend Saint Augustine's University where she majored in Political Science and minored in English. Chenae' joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
Chenae' went on to attend North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, NC where she graduated with her Juris Doctor. After law school, Chenae' settled in Durham where she lives with her husband, Terrence Erkerd, and their two dogs.
Chenae' had the pleasure of speaking at TEDx Spex in April 12024. After her experience, she decided to volunteer her time to curating TEDx events using Parrish Street to continue its legacy while giving speakers the chance to share their ideas.
